The Fisherman Friends

Originated in Port Isaac, the shanty band soon got world wide fame after being recognised by a music producer whilst singing for charity on a Friday night at the harbour. They then went on to sing at festivals and stages all over the world. They even produced their own song 'No Hopers, Jokers & Rogues', and in 2019 we saw the release of The Fisherman Friends movie. A movie telling the story of the bands success. Us fans hope to see a second movie being released once COVID-19 restrictions stop. But who knows?

Although their success and recognition labelled the shanty band as ''one of the best in the world', this hasn't stopped the boys from continuing to sing for charity at the Port Isaac harbour on a Friday night in the summer. Nor has this fame stopped them from being average, humble men with families and jobs that they all care for, as well as their love for singing.

Doc Martin

This famous tv show tells the story of a miserable doctor who lives in the sweet village of Port Isaac. Many visitors swarm Port Isaac each summer to get pictures of the famous house and scenery. One of the many real things about Doc Martin is that their is no CGI or editing used to make the landscape look pretty. That's just Port Isaac showing off. Although there is rumours to this amazing tv show coming to an end, we still know Port Isaac left an incredible impact on the viewers of the show.

The Walks

Located on the North coast of Cornwall, Port Isaac is filled with incredible coastal walks that can take you left and right, up and down. If you are ever fortunate enough to visit Port Isaac, I highly suggest doing as many of the walks as your able to. Not only is it a refreshing type of exercise, the views supply you with a new kind of serotonin.

One of my favourite walks is from Port Isaac to Polzeath. Although long, if done during the summer its such an incredible scene and you can treat yourself with an ice cream at the end. If this sounds too long of a walk, I suggest walking to Port Quinn instead. Its just as good but shorter.

The Cafes and Restaurants

When it comes to food, Port Isaac doesn't let us down. The fishing village has numerous of restaurants supplying the best local food. If Sea food isn't your go to, that okay because the cafes supply typical foods that you'd expect.

Boat tours!

It's not hard to find a local fisherman offering tours around the bay! Usually on a nice day, many people are lucky enough to spot a pod of dolphins or some seals. It's a perfect activity for the whole family! Even if you aren't able to sight much wildlife, the trip is still worth it. The tour hosts are usually filled with joyfulness, making your journey spectacular.
